The 11U-14U Select program (formerly known as Challenge) is offered to players as an alternative to the Classic Program with a lower commitment level but still offering players the opportunity to develop. The Select Program stresses player development over results and will focus on the development of individual skill, technique, and game understanding. Select teams are formed at evaluations in May and will participate in a NCYSA Select League in both the fall and the spring.
The Specific Goals of the 11U to 14U Select program are:
The 11U-14U Select program is open to boys and girls. Players must attend evaluations in May to be placed on a team for the following fall and spring. Example: evaluation in May 2017 for fall 2017 and spring 2018 season. CLICK HERE for a chart of programs available to our players.
The U11-14 Select program is directed by Alex Douyon and Mark Simpson, with oversight from full time Assistant Directors of Coaching. Teams will be coached by a licensed coach. CLICK HERE to view the Twins Directors, Coaches, and Staff.
The 11U-14U Select Program is a two season commitment in the Fall (mid-August to mid-November) and Spring (end of January to beginning of May). Players will practice 2 nights per week at BB&T Soccer Park. Girls will train on Mondays and Wednesdays, while the boys will train on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Time slots vary based on player age and coach commitments, and will start at either 5:00 PM, 6:15 PM, or 7:30 PM.
Games will be played on weekends against other clubs in the area, with the possibility of an occasional weeknight game. Players will play in at least 8 games and will participate in one tournament each fall and spring. Travel will vary by team and is dependent on which NCYSA division a team is placed in; travel usually stays pretty close, with the possibility of a few games outside of the Piedmont Triad.
The 15U-19U Select program (formerly known as Challenge) is offered to players as an alternative to the Classic Program with a lower commitment level but still offering players the opportunity to develop.
As our Twins’ players enter the high school age years they are experiencing rapid change in everything they do. Schoolwork has increased, social options have expanded and their bodies are increasingly changing and maturing. It is with these factors in mind that our 15U-19U Twins’ Select Program has developed to include specific activities that help our young adults reach their soccer, academic, and social goals. Players must attend tryouts each Spring and teams are selected and formed to compete within the NCYSA single-season Fall or Spring calendars opposite the traditional North Carolina High School season.
The Specific Goals of the 15U-19U Select Program are:
The 15U-19U Select Program is open to young men and women born in 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, and 1998. The 15U -19U young women play their Twins’ soccer in the Fall (August – November) and the 15U-19U young men play in the Spring (January-May). Players are encouraged to play for their respective high schools. Example: evaluation in May 2016 for fall 2016-spring 2017 season. CLICK HERE for a chart of programs available to our players.
The 15U-19U Select Program is a one season commitment with seasons in the Fall for young ladies (mid-August to mid-November) and Spring for young men (end of January to beginning of May). 15U-19U Teams will train 2 times per week at BB&T Soccer Park.
Typically, our teams play in the Piedmont (Triad) or Western (Charlotte) Division but some teams have been assigned to an Eastern Division which would set up longer travel on game days. 15U-19U Select Teams will traditionally play 8-10 games per league season and attend 1 tournament within the region each season. Games will be played on weekends against other clubs in the area, with the possibility of an occasional weeknight game.
